Free TAFE and free apprenticeships for under 25s

Jobs change lives. It’s that simple and we want all Queenslanders to have a decent and secure job.

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on young people, with youth unemployment rising throughout the
pandemic. Now more than ever, young Queenslanders need support to help them break into the job market
and secure their future.

A re-elected Palaszczuk Labor Government will invest $21 million into providing free TAFE and free apprenticeships for 37,000 young Queenslanders under the age of 25 in 165 priority qualifications.

By investing in skilling and training Queensland’s youth, we are not just providing them with a short-term opportunity, we are providing Queensland with a key part of the roadmap for future economic prosperity - skilled workers.

Only a Palaszczuk Labor Government will invest in skilling our youth for the workplaces of the future.
