Equipping TAFE for our Future

Since 2017, the Palaszczuk Labor Government has invested over $151 million in TAFE infrastructure and since 2015, $420 million has been invested in Skilling Queenslanders for Work, creating 32,000 jobs.

Now, more than ever, it is important that Queenslanders have access to skilled, well paid, secure jobs to recover from the global pandemic and to grow our economy. We have worked together to keep Queenslanders safe during the COVID crisis and now we must focus on our economic recovery and keeping Queenslanders working.

We will invest a further $100 million over the next three years, to continue to build and modernise TAFE facilities needed to help skill and train Queenslanders in the jobs of the future.

Our $100 million investment will also provide a much-needed boost to local industry and support more than 200 local jobs during construction. Together we will help provide local businesses with the skilled workers they need to grow our economy, foster innovation and ensure that Queensland remains competitive.

Only a Labor Government will equip TAFE to give Queenslanders the skills they need to get good jobs and secure Queensland’s economic future.
